Our housing system is organised in a player ranking format.
When new players join Division6ix, they enrol in our Academy House. Academy Players are regularly evaluated through through tournament performance, and their ability to provably meet regularly-set Division 6ix challenges.
Once an Academy Player has progressed sufficiently, delivering consistent tournament performance, they will be offered a place at one of our Semi-Pro houses. Each Semi-Pro House having its own identity and theme to reflect its players.
At the end of each 'Season', a brief four-month period, each player is offered a chance to compete with their contemporaries and the Division 6ix Professional team in an End-Of-Season Tournament. At the end of our End-Of-Season Tournament, performance will be offered places as salaried, Professional Esports players with Division 6ix
Our Professional house is unlike any other, where other teams scout players from online and often attempt to sign players who’re already competing at an extremely high level. Division 6ix’s Professional Players have been with us for the majority of their career as Esports players. From learning their games at an intermediate level, to going head-to-head with the world’s best with thousands on the line.
As such, we’re immensely proud of each and every member of our Professional team, and we like to think they’re proud of themselves too. When a Division 6ix Pro player competes, they’re not just fighting for a prize pool, for themselves, or even for their team. They’re fighting to show the Esports industry that a new way is possible, that investing solely in the best players is an outdated model when new talent is always ready to take over given the opportunity. Our team fight so that the world can know it really is possible for contenders to turn champion.
Our professional team, however, is always changing. With the end of each season our Pro team have to compete and validate their position against the semi-pro players. While we’re proud of our professional players and would love nothing more than to pretend like they’ll always be the best of the best, Esports doesn’t work like that. As they work to dethrone the best, even become the best, there will always be talent from one of our semi-pro houses willing to attempt to do the same. We have programs to offer our professional players stability, with funding even if they lose their spot to a Semi-pro player.
The Division6ix Academy is the place for hard-grinding players to compete in tournaments, climbing our Leaderboard for a chance to join our salaried professional Esports team.
For anyone who wants to make a name for themselves in Esports, the Academy is a starting point. This way, there is one way and one way only to progress the ranks – winning.
Our Fortnite-Specific House.
Onyx house is defined by two things, a hyper-competitive attitude, and a focus on individual performance. Each member of Onyx house is immensely skilled, and while none of them neglect their teamwork, Onyx players prioritise their performances as an individual. Teams may come and go but investing in your own play is an investment for life. Onyx are a team comprised of aspiring Aces, always competing with one another to prove their worth. When Onyx are winning a match it’s spectacular and oppressive, their opponents unable to find even a moment to find their footing. When Onyx are losing it’s always by a razor edge, if even one member of Onyx team is left, their opponents are in serious danger. Onyx team members train for the 1 v 6 Matchup, and an Onyx house ace is never out of the fight.
Our Semi-Professional Call of Duty and Fortnite house.
Opal House is kind of a wildcard, even within Division 6ix. Playing Call of Duty and Fortnite, Opal players don’t just focus on one game, but instead hone their play across a multitude of games. While typically in Esports, players grind the same game for days on end to hone their skills, Opal House pride themselves in being aces for a litany of games. Always looking to gain transferrable skills from other games, or to find tactics that work in one game and can be adapted for another. If Opal house are winning it’s a joy to watch, its members are pulling off absurd tactics and plays that leave their opponents reeling and demoralized. If Opal House are losing, they lock down immediately, denying their opponents even the slightest advantage until an opportunity presents itself to them. With Opal there’s always a way.
Our Semi-Professional Fortnite, Valorant and CS:GO house.
Topaz are another highly-desired house, playing Valorant, Fortnite and CS: GO. While other houses such as Onyx focus much more on individual performance, Topaz temper that individualist drive with heavy emphasis on teamwork and communication. Topaz move as a unit, always giving each other information, assistance and advice. Individual play is massively important, and Topaz recognise this, but to reach truly high ranks teamwork is a necessity. When Topaz are winning a match they’re unstoppable as a team. Each member performing their role with ease and grace, ending engagements quickly and decisively. When Topaz are losing, they’re analysing their competitor, finding their weaknesses, preparing to pivot the match from a loss to a total victory.
Our Nonspecific Esports house.
Our Ruby House is our broadest and largest Semi-Professional house. Without any particular game focus, Ruby House’s strength is its community. Embodying a mix of players, all united by their desire to become the best, and their community spirit to help one another. Ruby are constantly in communication with each other, sharing information and advice, even with players who don’t play their game competitively. The sheer amount of support Ruby house shows for each one of its players is immense. If Ruby house are winning a match they’re playing fast and calculated. If ruby are losing a match they’re going to start fighting even harder. Ruby house are indomitable because they win every victory and feel every loss together.
